Scholarship Awards Reception
Each year the Foundation in conjunction with the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Epsilon Upsilon Omega Chapter, holds a reception to recognize our scholarship recipients. The event is usually held in June where we welcome the recipients and their families. The program includes a message from a former scholarship recipient. Additionally, we showcase the talents of recipients and youth that we mentor. Our goal is to award 10,000 dollars in awards each year. The Foundation since its inception in 2002 is committed to assisting our youth in pursuit of higher education. In 2018 we established an additional scholarship in memory Betty Vaughn Coles for her commitment to education. This scholarship will be awarded annually to a graduate of Trenton Central High School who has excelled educationally and is active in their community.
